Chain letters exchanged between 1936 and 1937 graduates of the Duke University Divinity School. All became Methodist ministers. Many of their discussions concern Methodism in the South, including the progress of unification, visitation evangelism, annual conferences, Duke University convocations, conference schools, youth meetings, and appointments, salaries, and parsonages. Other conversations relate to racism and desegregation in the South, pacificism and World War II, ministry during World War II, travel, family life, and health. Includes letters written by their spouses.
